Claude A. Eggertsen Dissertation Prize
The History of Education Society is accepting submissions for the Claude A. Eggertsen Prize for the dissertation judged to be most outstanding in the field of history of education. Dissertations may focus on schools and/or broader educational processes may have a domestic, comparative, or international emphasis. The committee particularly encourages submissions from diverse scholars and/or those with a broad conceptualization of history and education.
The winner of this award will be recognized at the 2023 annual meeting of the History of Education Society and receive a prize of $1,000. Self-nominations are welcome, as are nominations submitted by faculty colleagues. Applicants must have deposited the dissertation and graduated during the calendar year 2022. The deadline for entries is June 15, 2023. Entrants should send an electronic copy (PDFs preferred) of the complete dissertation, an abstract of the dissertation, and their CV to each of the three prize committee members below.
