The HES 2026 Annual Meeting will be held in conjunction with the American Educational Studies Association at the Hilton Portland Downtown hotel in Portland, Oregon, from November 5-8, 2026.

Membership in HES is required for all presenters on the HES program. Thanks to a generous bequest from our former President Dr. Geraldine Clifford, HES will waive the 2026 registration fee for students who are members of the society.

All attendees are encouraged to stay at the conference hotel. HES is contracted to fill many rooms to use the hotel’s meeting space. Hotel reservations are available here.

Registrants of both the History of Education Society and the American Educational Studies Association will be able to attend most sessions of both programs. The organizers hope every member will take advantage of the opportunity by attending sessions from both organizations, but please only register for your primary organization.

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
