Linda Eisenmann Prize

The History of Education Society seeks nominations for the Linda Eisenmann Prize. The $1000 prize is awarded biennially to recognize the most outstanding scholarly work (book, article, electronic contribution, etc.) in the field of the history of higher education in the United States produced by a junior scholar in the immediately prior two years. For the 2026 cycle, a nominated work must have been published between March 31, 2022, and March 30, 2026, by a scholar who received their terminal degree after January 1, 2018. Previous recipients of the Henry Barnard Prize, the Eggertsen Award, and the Eisenmann Prize are ineligible. Nominations may be made by faculty, department chairs, deans, other scholars, and publishers; self-nominations are welcome.

Nominations of articles and electronic resources should be sent as a PDF of the article or a link to the resource to the award committee chair, Isaac Gottesman (igottesma@conncoll.edu). Those nominating books should contact the chair for the addresses of the committee members. Nominations should include the CV of the author with the submission.

All materials must be received by May 15, 2026.
