Perspectives on the History of Higher Education
The African American Experience in Higher Education
Before the Civil Rights Era
African Americans confronted and overcame enormous obstacles in order to attend institutions of higher education before the Civil Rights Era.Perspectives on the History of Higher Education envisions a themed volume thatwill explore various aspects of this rich and varied history. All interested authors should contact the editors with ideas, proposals, or manuscripts. We aim to have a volume assembled by September 1, 2011, but authors should send inquiries or drafts well before that date. Perspectives articles are peer-reviewed, generally do not exceed 12,000 words, and follow the Chicago Manuel of Style.
