Welcome to the History of Education Society
New Committees
At the 2011 Annual Meeting in Chicago the History of Education Society Board established three new standing committees. The charge to the Archives Committee is to coordinate the identification and publication of special collections of interest to historians of education as well as provide guidance for the maintenance of the archives of the History of Education Society. The charge to the Teaching of History of Education Committee is to examine issues regarding the teaching of history of education, and, when deemed appropriate, to offer workshops on the teaching of history of education in conjunction with the Annual Meeting. The charge to the Technology Committee is to provide oversight and direction for the Society’s website and to coordinate the technology for sessions at the Annual Meeting.
Inaugural members will serve an initial two-year term and then determine an order to rotate off the committee. Beginning in 2014 the President of the History of Education Society will appoint a new member to each committee each year.
